About
I am Oguzhan Gungordu, a 3rd-year PhD student in Machine Learning in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology, advised by Prof. Faramarz Fekri. Previously, I completed a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a B.Sc. in Physics at Koç University.
My research focuses on LLM agents that can reason and improve from experience. I am particularly interested in:
(i) LLM-Driven Algorithm and Scientific Discovery: how LLM-driven evolutionary methods can discover heuristics and algorithms for complex optimization and scientific problems.
(ii) Self-Improving LLM Agents: how agentic systems can evolve their skills through experience-driven self-improvement.
(iii) LLM Reasoning: how models can plan, use tools, and perform evidence-based reasoning with retrieval-augmented generation.
